The past of everything
The works are made by painting byzantine icons on dinosaur construction kits and creating an assemblage from the painted fragments. It is a playful fantasy about the “pre-human” worlds, which collides the creationist myth with the evolutionist theory. Today, both the Jurassic world and the Biblical world often inspire films and fiction literature and we show “artefacts” from these worlds in museums – dinosaur fossils are displayed in museums of natural history and relics of saints are kept in cathedrals and churches. I decided to make a series of objects which resemble both of these artefacts for the space of a gallery or an art museum.
